Hadden Sayers
With deep Texas roots and a long career fraught with many trials, Hadden Sayers has found his voice. Sayers’ self-described “rehab for the soul” took place in Southern Ohio while rebuilding a shack with a retired stonemason named Conrad McCorkle.
This seasoned singer/songwriter wields a smooth guitar and blues-grizzled voice bound to rejuvenate your soul as well. Sayers has found a pure combination of blues, country, rockin’ honky tonk, great guitar picking, and solid songwriting.
Hadden Sayers delivers his music with the weathered maturity of a man who, as he says, “has done things the right way, and not the easy way.”
Hard Day’s Night
Hailing from the rock ‘n roll city of Cleveland, Ohio, Hard Day’s Night is rated among the top national Beatles tribute groups performing today, and is dedicated to the Beatles’ touring performance standard of playing without recordings or click tracks. The band performs songs from the 1962- 1966 era exactly as the Beatles themselves did: four musicians onstage, in character as John, Paul, George, and Ringo, wearing perfect stitch-for-stitch replications of the suits made famous by the Beatles, with authentic Vox, Hofner, Gretsch, Rickenbacker, and Ludwig instruments, playing those world-famous songs note-for-note. Hard Day’s Night has performed for thousands of Beatles fans in England and the United States, in one of the most authentic, all-live stage tributes to the Beatles seen anywhere today!
Heart
Sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson first showed the world that women can rock when their band, Heart, stormed the charts in the ‘70’s with hits like “Crazy on You,” “Magic Man,” “Barracuda,” “Straight On,” and so many more. Not only did the Wilson sisters lead the band, they wrote the songs and played the instruments too, making them the first women in rock to do so. Heart continued topping the charts through the ‘80’s and ‘90’s with huge hits like “These Dreams,” “Alone,” “What About Love,” “If Looks Could Kill,” “Never,” and a string of other hits that showcased the sisters’ enormous talents as musicians and singers.
Nearly 35 years after their first big hit, Ann and Nancy Wilson were back in the Billboard Top 10 in 2010 with Heart’s “Red Velvet Car” album, and a Top 5 DVD (“Night at Sky Church”). …continue reading
Heidi Newfield
Heidi Newfield’s voice and presence in country music first established her as the center stage star of Trick Pony’s emergence in 2001. The hot new trio exploded as the biggest new sight and sound attraction of the early decade.
Armed with a collaborative history of platinum selling albums, Top 20 singles, ACM and AMA Awards to her credit, her distinctive voice and high-octane energy launched forward into a much-anticipated solo career. Henry Gross
ONE-HIT WANDERER is a one-man-show written and performed by veteran singer, songwriter, recording artist, actor and comedian Henry Gross. On the surface it’s an autobiographical look at his career in the music business. A closer look reveals a story of hope, perseverance, commitment, laughs, tears, disappointments and triumphs.
Born on April Fools Day, 1951, in Brooklyn, NewYork, Henry began playing clubs at age thirteen with his first band. Before long he was performing at the 1964 World’s Fair and spending summers honing his skills at Catskill Mountain resorts. Encouraged by his mom, also a gifted musician, and Gil Hodges, the all-star first baseman of The Brooklyn Dodgers who lived in the neighborhood, Henry’s career rose to amazing heights when, in 1969, during his first semester at Brooklyn College, he co-founded the 1950’s Rock & Roll revival band “Sha Na Na” and that summer became the youngest performer at “The Woodstock Festival.” …continue reading
Hoodoo Soul Band
Started in 1995 as a side project for several seasoned veterans of
the Columbus music scene, the Hoo Doo Soul Band shows no signs of slowing down. Hoo Doo is well known for putting their own twist on the standards and introducing audiences to unfamiliar funky gems with style.
Face it, doing justice to a song made famous by Al Green or Earth, Wind and Fire is a daunting task, but the Hoodoo Soul Band manages to perform such classics with grace and plenty of joyful energy. The band has received Columbus Music Awards for both Best Cover Band and Best Live Performance. Whether the ensemble plays old R&B or some fine Latin rhythm, this is one of a handful of Columbus bands that manages to merge outstanding musicianship with all-out fun entertainment.
